Who are we?

We are Kate & Gary and are absolutely delighted to meet you. 

We have both travelled extensively around the world; sometimes for work, sometimes for a holiday but were both bitten by the travel bug, what seems like a lifetime ago.

What made us create this business?  It's quite simple really.  To do better!  Most of the travelling in our lives was before we met in 2018; but one of the things that drew us together, was our love of adventure and exploration.  In 2019 we were about to take our first holiday together and, as Gary was generously paying, I felt the least I could do was to organise it.  It shouldn't have been a hardship to be honest.  I have always loved researching and planning trips, but I was a tad daunted by the pressure of booking the perfect trip for our first holiday.

I started with the standard questions:

• What is the budget?
• How long do you want to fly?
• How hot do you like it? (Inevitable ribald comment came from himself!)
• Adventure?  Chilled?  Combination?

Once we'd agreed on the type of holiday, it should have been fairly straightforward; shouldn't it?  I turned to the internet.  So many options!!  Such a range of prices without being clear as to whether it was the right resort, what we could expect at that time of year, and whether the hotel accommodation was actually going to live up to its promises.  

Limited to where we could go in February to get some sun for a week without spending a huge amount of time travelling, I whittled the mammoth list down to a few options for Gary.  However, we thought it would help if we could speak to someone who knew the locations under consideration.  With that in mind, we optimistically headed off to a travel agent. 

We spoke to the lady in the store and explained what options we had found so far, what we wanted from our holiday and whether a certain place in Africa would meet our expectations over those of an eco resort in Malaysia.  She simply nudged a brochure to us and suggested we read the descriptions.  It was so frustrating!  We were spending a significant amount of money and expected better service.  However, putting money aside, these trips matter to people.  It is how we escape.  Yes, we had a fabulous holiday but that was despite the agent, not because of. 

We vowed to do better!  We ARE doing better!
