Cape Verde - An All Round All Year Treat
The treat you have always promised yourself
Cape Verde is 10 individual islands each with their own exquisite long white sandy beaches. Temperatures are mid 20s all year round so it is great for a holiday at any time of the year and as it is only 6 hours flying time from the UK it is a long haul destination without the long haul flight.
Did I mention the crystal clear waters? The desire to just sink into the sea and cool off is irresistible. Well, I couldn’t resist in any case.
When asked why people visited Cape Verde, and plenty of British people do, here are the main reasons:
- Always Sunny and Warm
- White Sandy Beaches and A Crystal Clear Sea
- Many Luxury All-Inclusive Resorts
- Easy to Reach
- 10 Islands: Many diverse landscapes

The main islands for tourism are Sal and Boa Vista and they cater for anything from relaxed to lively holidays and from family friendly villas and hotels to intimate retreats. Boa Vista is also home to the longest beach on Cape Verde. Although if you want that perfect picture postcard beach then visit Tarrafal Beach in Santiago. A blend of long white sand and verdant countryside.
Cape Verde is also the 3rd largest site for nesting Loggerhead turtles and ecotourism is starting to become a major source of funding for the country. There is also plenty of water based activities for everyone to take part in and enjoy.
All over the 10 islands you will find friendly fisherman and the freshest of seafood served in quaint and rustic restaurants.
