Adventurous Kenya
Born to be free in Kenya
When you think of Kenya as a holiday destination, the first thing that probably comes to mind is safari; and why not? It is the main reason given by visitors as to why they visit Kenya. However, there is so much more to this exciting destination. The beaches in Mombasa are some of the most beautiful and diverse you will find. You can enjoy the white sand, turquoise water, palm trees and coral reefs that make up the stunning coastline of this city. For stunning views, you can hike up Mount Kenya sampling some of the best cuisine that Africa has to offer...and if that wasn't enough, there are 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites covering natural and manmade wonders just wating for you to explore.
Of course though, the safaris are the biggest draw. Renowned as THE place to see the big 5 animals, the unbelievably breathtaking sight of Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Lion and Rhinoceros, roaming across the expanses of the Masaai Mara will stay with you a lifetime. Time it right, and you could be lucky enough to witness the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra crossing the savanna.
There are many different types of safaris to choose from such as walking, luxury, self drive or cultural. Stay in camps, lodges or hotels.....it is entirely up to you. As well as a safari, Kenya also has some stunning beaches to laze around on or use as a springboard to dive into the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Centred around Mombasa, the beaches are long, sandy and warmed by tropical sun. They offer an ideal spot to get away from it all and recharge your batteries. Why not think about a multi center holiday, a safari or two and a beach stay combined into one fabulous holiday?
A trip to Nairobi is also worth it. The 4th largest city in Africa is known affectionately as the Green City Under the Sun. There is plenty to see and do here. Shopping may not be everyone's passion but have a stroll around one of the many local markets, and you can grab a locally produced bargain before eating at one of the best restaurants that Africa has to offer. It really is a lovely way to spend a day.
