Mombasa has a lot to attract the tourist. And that’s not a claim a UNESCO World Heritage site can normally make! It is in the tropics and so even during the colder months of June and July the average temperature is still around 23°C   

Mombasa is famed mainly for its beaches.  The long stretches of golden sand are warm to the touch of your feet and served by a number of top class hotels.  It is easy to get to as there are many flights from the UK directly to Mombasa or connections are available via Nairobi’s international airport. 

Once there you can spend as much time under the water as you can on it. Snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities are plentiful so make sure you shop around to get exactly what you are looking for. On top of the water you can go deep sea fishing or on a boat trip to the Mombasa Marine National Park.

Mombasa has two beach areas, the north for all the sea based action, the beachside bars and palm lined beaches and the south where the beaches are quieter and famed for their extraordinary natural beauty. 

In Mombasa there is accommodation to fit most pockets and there are many hotels built along the beach giving you direct access to the sea. Restaurants abound and you are spoilt for choice. The cuisine comes from around the world and there is also a heavy sea food presence too.
