The Seychelles is actually made up of 115 tropical islands where it is possible to pretend you are Robinson Crusoe with just the birds and tortoises for company if you explore that little bit further. Many of these are only accessible via motorboat or yacht.
Mahe is the biggest and busiest of all the islands but there is something magical about completing your journey to your accommodation by flying boat. It almost takes you back to the nostalgic and pioneering era of travel of the 1930s.

As you would expect from an island nation, the sea presents many opportunities for leisure activities be they sunbathing, snorkelling, diving, sailing or windsurfing. The Seychelles is also home to around 150,000 giant tortoises as well as a vast number of bird species that attract twitchers from around the globe.
Cuisine in the Seychelles takes the best of Indian, Asian and African influences to provide a diverse menu that is flavoursome and delicious. Being a group of islands, the fish are plentiful, fresh and if its not your normal go to item on a menu then maybe a main course that includes Shark Chutney might just make you change your mind.
