a safari against an amazing backdrop
Tanzania – A safari to see the Annual Great Migration
Described as the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle, the Annual Great Migration moves through the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area heading from Tanzania to Kenya and back again.
Including millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles it is all about the search for food and water and is one of the greatest events on earth to experience and marvel at the sheer size of it all. It normally happens in the 1st half of the year, anytime between December and July.
A safari in Tanzania also offers the chance to see the big 5 animals, lion, leopard, hippopotamus, rhinoceros and elephant with a backdrop of a snow-covered mountain, Kilimanjaro, reaching up majestically to the clouds above. One of those photo opportunities that is unique and can only mean a visit to one place.

Tanzania also offers safari trips that are less popular but more tailor made to what you are looking for. In smaller National parks and in smaller groups these tours are a little more basic than maybe a traditional safari but still offer the same chance to see the big 5.
Of course, a hot air balloon ride is for many the archetypal safari experience. Getting up at dawn (or even earlier), helping load the balloon before rising into the dawn skies before the heat of the day takes hold. Floating quietly above the Serengeti as the animals start to wake and move around, searching for food and water before returning to earth for a breakfast or lunch somewhere. A balloon ride gives a unique perspective on the animals and their habits as they remain unaware of your presence, 1000 feet up.
