The Gambia has a stunning coastline with many beautiful beaches to explore. Some of the best beaches in the Gambia are
Kotu Beach: This is a wide and flat beach with palm trees, hotels, restaurants and bars. It’s a popular tourist destination with plenty of sun loungers and parasols. It’s also a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy the lively atmosphere
Cape Point Beach: This is a vast expanse of soft, golden sand with a few hotels set back from the shoreline. It offers a lot of space and privacy, as well as a lovely restaurant and beach bar called Calypso, where you can see crocodiles in a nearby creek
Bakau Beach: This is a working beach where you can see colourful fishing boats and a bustling fish market. It’s not ideal for swimming or sunbathing, but it’s a fascinating place to observe local life and culture. You can also visit the nearby Ngala Lodge, which has a beautiful terrace overlooking a rocky cove.
Sanyang Beach: This is also known as Paradise Beach, and it’s one of the most idyllic beaches in the Gambia. It has long stretches of golden sand backed by palm trees, with barely any crowds or development.
