Amazing Barbados
Barbados, where the welcome is warm and the rum beautifully chilled!
Barbados literally does have it all. Stunning beaches, rich culture, delicious cuisine, and friendly people. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, an adventurous escape, or a romantic retreat, Barbados has something for everyone.
Barbados has over 70 miles of coastline, with beaches ranging from calm coves, to surf-pounded shorelines. You can swim, snorkel, sail, surf, or just soak up the guaranteed sunshine on the gorgeously soft, white, sand. Some of the best beaches are Miami Beach, Crane Beach, and Bathsheba Beach.
Culturally speaking, Barbados is a melting pot of African, European and Caribbean influences which are reflected in its music, art, architecture, festivals and food. Its capital city Bridgetown is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the hometown of Rihanna.
The biggest festival is The Crop Over festival. It has lots of celebrations from May through to August, but the largest event occurs first weekend in August with a huge carnival. It’s certainly worth timing your visit to coincide with it if you can make it work.

Besides enjoying the incredible beaches, another must see is the Animal Flower Cave. It’s on the northern tip of the island and has pools where you can swim. The pools have sea anemones that look like flowers and the natural openings offer some stunning views.
Barbados is home to some of the friendliest and most welcoming people in the world. They are proud of their island and eager to share it with visitors. You will feel like part of the family as soon as you arrive, and you’ll leave with memories that will last a lifetime.
Finally……….the rum! Mount Gay Distillery is the oldest rum distillery in the world. It was founded in 1706 and can be found in St Lucy. They do historic tours where you can explore the landscape, the original well, the molasses house and other buildings. It’s well worth it especially as your day will be rounded off by tasting 4 of their signature rums and 4 others exclusive to that day. I would also recommend their Masterclass and Cocktail workshop. There is plenty more to do there, but you need to book your trip first!
