Amazing holidays in Puerto Rico
Paradise and Pina Coladas? Perfect!
Puerto Rico is a Caribbean paradise that offers more than just sun, sand and sensational cuisine. It's a destination where you can immerse yourself in the rich history and culture, explore the stunning natural beauty, have a new adventure and fun in the vibrant nightlife.
Old San Juan is the oldest city in the Americas, founded by Spanish explorers in 1508. You can admire the colonial architecture, visit the impressive fortresses of El Morro and San Cristobal and learn about the island's heritage at the museums and galleries. You can dine at local restaurants (we tend to follow the principle of eating where locals eat) and dance to salsa music at the bars and clubs. Culebra is a small island off the east coast known for its pristine beaches and wildlife. Relax on the famous Flamenco beach, snorkel or dive at the Culebra National Wildlife Refuge, or hike to the Tamarindo Beach.
Of the Caribbean islands, Puerto Rico is quite probably the best to travel to as there is so much to do. Yes you can fly and flop. Equally we can build you an itinerary to include some of its highlights from spotting nesting turtles, white water rafting, trekking, and boat trips, to name just a few.

Puerto Rican Cuisine is a fusion of Spanish, African and Taino influences, with a variety of dishes that will delight your tastebuds. Tostones are fried plantains that are crunchy and savory, whereas Morir sonando (literally translates as "die dreaming") is a refreshing drink made from orange juice, milk, sugar and ice. It sounds simple but tastes heavenly. Their version of rice and peas also goes so well with lechon asado (roasted pork) and there is a huge range of local beers to choose from....as well as a wide choice of rums.
As for beaches, Puerto Rico is spoiled for choice. There are lively beaches, there are quiet beaches. Beaches where you can whale watch, others where you can surf. Snorkeling is fabulous. With Puerto Rico's coral reefs and diverse marine life you can bob around at different times of the day and see a huge array of fish.
